The wine cellar of the month is: Arnaldo Caprai
Our wine cellar of the month is the Arnaldo Caprai winery. It is a true excellency made in Umbria, famous for being a leader in the production of Sagrantino di Montefalco. Starting with this wine in particular, we would like to introduce you to the Arnaldo Caprai Winery.
Arnaldo Caprai: the Umbrian winery that conquered the world
– Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 years, Caprai 2003, 3-liter bottle: a red wine with a decisive structure that leaves an acidic aftertaste. With its cinchona and cedar notes, as well as berries and cherries, it is the perfect wine to enjoy with red meat and cold cuts. It is a widely awarded Sagrantino di Montefalco, and in its 3-liter bottle, it gives a grand example of its majesty.
– Spinning Beauty Caprai 2009, 0.75-liter bottle: a 100% Sagrantino, this bottle is inspired by the undisputed classics with particularly long aftertastes. Each glass of this wine releases the taste of its territory and its specific aging: eight years in durmast barrels. It is both fascinating and seductive, and reaches its peak when served at 18 degrees Celsius alongside cheese and red meat.
– Belcompare Arnaldo Caprai 2009, 0.75-liter bottle: a 100% Merlot with an intense and captivating dark blue color. While drinking this rich wine, the taste of ripe red fruit is immediately present, and ends with chocolate notes. It was produced (a total of 2000 bottles) by Michel Rolland, an internationally celebrated enologist.
– Cuvée Secrète Caprai 2018, 0.75-liter bottle: this Umbrian Grechetto, with its hay yellow color and sapid taste is quite pleasant and refreshing. Its aroma moves from fruity and spicy notes to subtle balsamic touches.
– Passito Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG Arnaldo Caprai, 0.375-liter bottle: this is not just any raisin wine, but rather an excellent one. It might be because of its ripe fruit taste, its berry scent, or its rich taste, which make it a true meditation wine.
